Independent Jewish community in Reston, Virginia seeks warm, energetic and experienced school principal to lead its active Hebrew School of 30+ students.

Successful candidate will have experience running a comparably-sized school.

Responsibilities include teaching part of the year, to substitute teach, when needed.

Other requirements include: excellent organizational and communication skills, expertise in working well with staff, including developing young teachers, and to foster a warm working environment, ability to coordinate with School Liaison and the Board of Directors, and working knowledge of Judaics, Hebrew, and prayer.

Shoreshim strives to give our children a love of Judaism; yet many of our children are growing up in interfaith families, so an understanding of this is essential.

Hours will vary, and the school meets for 2 hours on Monday afternoons from September through May. Work can be done at School as well as from a home office. Interested candidates should submit a resume and list of references to Cathy Drake.
